ASCEND
ASCEND is 91³Ô¹Ï’s strategic support initiative to empower neurodiverse learners, including those with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, or other learning differences (LD) to achieve academic independence and success. Personalized coaching and support are at the core of ASCEND. One-on-one coaching sessions are specifically designed to meet FPU students where they are and foster student agency and self-advocacy.
ASCEND includes:
- Tiered coaching system for students to receive personalized support through bi-weekly or monthly meetings
- Academic accommodations coordinated by the Student Accessibility team
- Executive Function Coaching sessions that help students master critical skills like organization, time management, academic planning, and follow-through
- Student Empowerment Coaching that builds resilience, self-advocacy, communication skills, and emotional regulation
- Free tutoring services integrated with the Student Success Center for direct, course-specific academic help
- Integration of assistive technology to assist students with reading, writing, and learning comprehension
- Disability-specific internship support to ensure a successful transition into career-focused opportunities
